Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) refers to the maximum total weight of a fully loaded
trailer, including its cargo. This rating should never be exceeded for safety reasons.

Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) indicates the maximum load capacity for a single axle.
Exceeding this weight limit can affect the trailer’s performance and safety.

Maximum Payload Capacity is determined by subtracting the empty (unloaded)
weight of the trailer from its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR).

Formula:

Maximum Payload Capacity = GVWR − Empty Weight of Trailer

Example:
If the trailer’s GVWR is 10,000 lbs and the empty trailer weighs 2,800 lbs, then:

10,000 lbs − 2,800 lbs = 7,200 lbs

Maximum Payload Capacity = 7,200 lbs

No. Exceeding the maximum payload capacity can be unsafe and may cause damage to the
trailer or tow vehicle. Please refer to your Owner’s Manual for proper loading instructions and
weight distribution guidelines.

Tongue weight is the portion of the trailer’s total weight that is transferred to the tow vehicle
through the coupler. This can be measured using a tongue weight scale or by following the
recommendations provided in your Owner’s Manual.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) label is typically located on the driver’s side tongue
or on the front frame rail of the trailer.
